Family Photos

Wow! I haven’t blogged in awhile..    No news is good news.. well that’s what I think anyways…

Today, we met Mitzi at Rileys farm for our end of the year family photos. Although the fires almost prevented Mitzi and her family from coming.. they ventured onto the unknown, taking alternate routes, until they reached us. :)

We had a great time! Thanks guys, for not letting these fires stop you from coming. We look forward to seeing you soon! You captured some great shots of our family!  Maybe next time, we’ll do a water theme, is it possible that we could talk Rob into taking the kayaks out?? :)

Labor Day - Breakfast

Where did the weekend go??? I seriously lost at least two days!

We went to my parents house for breakfast. My mom made some great bacon!! , potatoes, eggs and fruit.

Every morning my dad feeds the “birds”, yes the birds. The wild birds and a bunny.  He puts wild birdseed on the retaining wall, but this morning he fed the wrong bird.  The wrong bird, being a hawk.  My dads buffet of birdseed for non-predatory birds attracted a hawk who gladly feasted on a little finch.  Luckily, we didn’t see all this happen, but Sam was able to capture the aftermath.  If you look closely you’ll notice the feathers on the pillar and the hawk has something in his claws.

On another note….   We got Jacquelyn goggles for her swimming class, she was so excited!!

I put London in her hair chair for the first time!  Could this mean that I may actually stop holding her for a little bit??                maybe … just maybe…

Our Firsts this year

Yesterday, ,my mom called and invited us to come over to swim and for some pizza. So, of course we were all over that! Tia, Jessica and Maddy also joined us. It was the first time for the girls to swim this year - and what made it even more special is that they (Maddy and Jacquelyn) could do it together.

Jacquelyn was a little unsure at first but Maddy took to it like a pro!

Fried Chicken - Southern Syle

Have you ever had homemade fried chicken??? I never had until last Sunday. My dads sister, (Aunt Peachie) was visiting from Texas. Before she returned home she wanted to treat her little brother to a southern meal - fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, peas, corn and chicken & dumplings! What a treat!

Fun at Grandma’s
